I am a primatologist at an art and design college, focusing on behavioral ecology and the conservation of primates. Building on my existing research experience, my current interest examines the co-adaptation of humans and non-human primates in overlapping environments, considering the influence of primate behavior, diverse human cultures, shifting economic trends, and the microbiology of coexistence. In addition to primates, I am interested in social mammals such as cetaceans and elephants, and I explore their dynamics in relation to humans. As an Assistant Professor at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Arts, Design, and Technology, I investigate themes of critical analysis and artistic expression, particularly concerning the representation of primates on social media and the implications of their illegal trade. My goal is to foster a multidisciplinary understanding that promotes positive narratives of coexistence and inspires meaningful change in our interactions with other species.
